What homestead would be complete without good a good flashlight. Living in a relatively primitive cabin, I rely on flashlights and headlamps year around.

In an effort to reduce my relance on AA and AAA batteies I have made the switch to the higher tech USB rechargeable lights.

The Thrunite TC15 and TC15v2 are my latest lights.... Watch the video and see if they will have a place in your pack, or on a hook at the head of your bunk!

An afternoon walk to check on my canoe

I took some time one afternoon, to go check on a canoe I have stashed on a nearby lake... I was concerned that a moose may have tried to walk over it when it was buried with snow last winter.

Plastic canoes do not hold up well to being stepped on my moose!!
So I took my dog and a camera and made the short journey to inspect it... Come on along with me enjoy an little jont through the woods!
My dog comes along, but only makes a brief cameo before disappearing off into the woods....
It's nice to be able to just keep my canoe on the lake, ready for instant use if the need arises... There are fish in those waters and I am to rarely going after them. A situation I soon intend to remedy!!
Thanks for watching.. I hope you enjoyed my little trek. Come back soon and maybe we'll just go fishing together!!
